Wyena!

Hey,

Well, 6:15 this morning saw me drag myself out of bed (and the rest of the hobart crews who headed to wyena) and get my bike on the back of the car in the dark. Made it down to pick up point Officeworks in time to freeze my arse off for half an hour, but eventually the Lo-Lux showed up, preceded by loud muffler sounds and revving of the t-roy vehicle!

Rolling into Wyena for the first time ever is farkin exciting, you see the size of the hill, all the utes and riders at the top, and you're like "this is where it's at!!" Everyone busts out of the truck, unloads the bikes, fixes up Rob Potter's paperwork (it must be said, give the man a medal, he's a legend!) and gets into it! Jimmy followed Matty Fitzpat down, and was hitting most of the jumps without even checking them out, until he ate shit hard on the big step down! Jervis got a pic, but he hasn't posted it up just yet, i'll link it in when it gets done.

I can't stress strongly enough, if you haven't ridden wyena DO IT! it's the best thing since sliced bread,  perhaps better! no rocks, no roots, plenty of jumps (all with b-lines for the chickens like me) and a healthy heaping of speed!

Big ups to rob for organising, shuttling, and generally gettin' her done! he's absolutely legend, and mtbing needs more blokes like him!

soon will be bring you an interview of one of the guys who's been in tassie mtbing the longest, keep an eye out of it.

i'll leave you with some sweet pics!

Sunday Night Update #1 - 24.5.09

Well, it's sunday night, and we haven't done too much since last time. Went riding yesterday up at the Lea DH track, (which there's a log over about 1/3 of the way down, so watch out!) but didn't take a camera so no shots of that.

Went out building today, just did a bit of bench cutting along the Gully DH trail, and build a little kicker to boot over the creek. Also started carrying a pallet down to chuck over a little log, but didn't get far, it got heavy quick!
The good news is that we're getting through it slowly, should be able to ride all the way through by the end of these coming holidays, and then we'll invite you lousy rabble up to have a rip and ride it in a little.
